Redwood City – Join local officials as they raise the Progress Pride Flag at 10 a.m. at County Center on Thursday, June 1, 2023.
The flag raising kicks off June as Pride Month as declared by the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors.
The event takes place in the courtyard at 400 County Center, Redwood City. (Google map link.) County Center is also accessible via Caltrain and Samtrans.

Supervisors voted 5-0 to declare June 2023 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and Two Spirit + (also known as LGBTQQIA2S+) Month.
The resolution states that “the Progress Pride Flag is a symbol of support for the LGBTQQIA2S+ community and the diversity within that community, and flying the flag at the seat of government demonstrates that San Mateo County is a welcoming, inclusive county and a safe space to explore gender expression….”
The County of San Mateo is also helping to sponsor the first annual San Mateo County Pride Parade to be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 10 from B Street to Central Park in San Mateo. Register to walk in the parade through June 2 at https://forms.gle/Nfe8wghLqn5LcRbJ7
