Gateway Rising, formerly known as Gateway Family Housing, is now fully occupied and has successfully completed its conversion to permanent financing. The property includes financing from both the San Mateo County Department of Housing and the Housing Authority of San Mateo County, as well as an award of Section 8 Project-Based Vouchers.
This 140 unit family housing property represents the final stage of a ten-year redevelopment of a 1960’s era apartment building in the Belle Haven neighborhood of Menlo Park. MidPen Housing redeveloped the entire site, increasing the number of apartment homes from 130 to 230, split between a senior housing property, Sequoia Belle Haven, and the new family property, Gateway Rising.
Gateway Rising is home to 81 returning residents, 7 formerly homeless residents and 51 additional new residents with incomes up to 80% of Area Median Income. Its transformative design features a mural that celebrates the richness of the Belle Haven community.
Gateway Rising’s Grand Opening will take place on May 24th from 12:30pm – 2pm and is a highlight of San Mateo County’s celebration of May as Affordable Housing Month.
