Redwood City – What are your needs? That was the basic question residents we invited you to answer at a series of listening sessions and in a survey that focused on four key areas: housing and homelessness, emergency preparedness, children and families and mental health. The listening sessions concluded last week. The survey closed Monday at midnight.
Redwood City – Seven local high school students will serve as San Mateo County’s first Youth Cultural Ambassadors. The inaugural seven will seek to “build community through arts and culture with the goal of greater youth involvement in the community.”
Following partial demolition of the tennis courts, contractors broke ground for Flood’s pump track. Construction is expected to continue until early October.
The County of San Mateo (County) is seeking proposals to develop an automated solution that can interpret building and site plans, check the plans for Zoning Regulation and Building Code compliance, and provide a recommendation for approval or denial of the submitted plans. Organizations or individuals interested in responding to this solicitation must register online with the County of San Mateo via Public purchase.
Redwood City – To help ensure wide participation, the County has extended the deadline to complete a survey on key community needs through Monday, Aug. 28. The survey “survey seeks to understand what San Mateo County residents need for themselves, their families, and their communities to thrive.”

Construction of Tunitas Creek Beach has begun, with the park scheduled to open in Spring/Summer 2024. The property will be closed for construction until the park opening and is not accessible to the public.
Redwood City – The Half Moon Bay Airport will close to all air traffic beginning next week for repaving and other improvements. The airport will be closed from Monday, Aug. 14 through Friday, Aug. 18 so workers can fill cracks, apply a slurry seal and paint new pavement markings on the runway.
