We’re asking people of all ages to share their ideas for play at Flood Park on Saturday, March 16, 2–4pm, near the Manzanita picnic area.
The design team will provide a brief project update before asking for your ideas and preferences around playground themes, equipment, ground covering, color schemes and more. Materials for younger participants will be available to ensure we capture and reflect their ideas in the design. A food truck will sell snacks, including drinks, popcorn, cotton candy, popsicles, and hot dogs.
This is the first of several community events that will guide the design a new playground at Flood Park over the next three to four months.
Board of Supervisors Approves Phase I Construction Contract
The Board of Supervisors, at the Feb. 26 meeting, adopted a resolution approving the plans and specifications for Phase 1 of the Landscape Plan and selection of Jensen Landscape Contractor.
This phase of the Realize Flood Park project includes construction of the basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts, one multi-sport field, picnic areas, parking improvements, and some tree planting. The bike pump track was completed and opened October 2023. A construction schedule will be announced in approximately three weeks.
