In just three short months, park rangers and staff at Memorial Park will welcome campers back to the historic campground which has been closed for more than a year. During this past year, the Memorial Park project team has been working with contractors to install new accessible restrooms/shower buildings with accessible water fountains (see photos). Simultaneously, infrastructure improvements that include a new waste water treatment plant and collection system are near completion.
Campers with reservations in Sequoia, Redwood and Tan Oak areas will be the first to experience the improvements when they arrive beginning late May.
This is the first phase of improvements planned at Memorial Park. Improvement projects will continue over the next three years and leading up to Memorial’s 100-year anniversary July 2024 when we hope to have a total of 21 restroom and combination restroom/shower buildings installed.
